You have missed Rear-Admiral Sir Pulteney Malcolm, who was Commander-in-Chief at the Cape and St. Helena March 1816 to August 1817. He was followed by Pamplin.
Thank you for the correction. For some reason I believed Malcolm to be stationed at St. Helena only and not at the Cape, but it is clear that despite being appointed commander-in-chief in November 1816 Plampin did not arrive at the Cape until the following July. and that Malcolm had been the c-in-c at both stations up until then. For the same reason I also missed Rear-Admiral Sir George Cockburn , who was commander-in-chief at both St. Helena and the Cape prior to Malcolm, so I’ll amend the entry accordingly.
